Water damage is one of the most common and costly risks in commercial and multi-unit buildings.
aquaHALT is an automated water leak detection and shut-off system that stops leaks at the fixture level — before damage, downtime, or insurance claims occur.
What Makes Us Great?
aquaHALT is a one-time purchase, battery-powered water leak detection and shut-off system designed for fixtures and appliances in residential, multi-unit, and commercial properties. Powered by standard 2× AA batteries, it operates independently of Wi-Fi and electrical supply — delivering continuous protection without subscriptions, contracts, or ongoing fees.
Identifies abnormal water flow in real time, enabling rapid intervention before hidden leaks escalate into costly property damage.
Automatically shuts off water at the source when a leak is detected, stopping damage immediately and limiting downstream impact.
Operates independently on standard 2× AA batteries, ensuring reliable protection during power outages and across buildings without electrical access.
One-time purchase with no subscriptions, contracts, or ongoing fees — enabling predictable, long-term cost control.
Why Would You Pay a Subscription For a Notification?
Most water damage does not originate in pipes hidden behind walls. It starts at everyday fixtures such as toilets, sinks, ice makers, and appliance hoses. These components can fail without warning, allowing water to run continuously until it is manually shut off.
In unoccupied units or after hours, leaks can spread quickly. Notification alone does not stop damage – intervention does. The most effective way to prevent widespread loss is to shut off water directly at the fixture, before it flows downstream.

Protect Your Toilets
The aquaHALT 2X is an automatic toilet shut-off valve that runs on two AA batteries. When water reaches its floor sensor, it shuts off the water to the tank and beeps. The 2X is the original aquaHALT. It uses two 3/8″ water hoses, and you can tuck it away behind the toilet or leave it in view for easier access.
In the box: the aquaHALT unit, a leak detection sensor, a 3/8″ x 3/8″ water supply hose and two AA batteries. You’ll also need a small adjustable wrench and a small level. If your toilet has a 1/2″ hose connector, use an adapter. The sensor connects to the unit by a wire, and there’s no Wi-Fi, no app and no subscription. Assembled in the USA, U.S. Patent No. 10,895,068.
Installing it, in short: close the valve on the wall next to the toilet and flush to empty the tank. If water still gets through that valve when it’s closed, have a plumber replace it first. Move your existing hose from the wall valve to one side of the unit, then run the new hose from the other side to the wall valve, snug but not overtightened. Stick the unit to the wall with its adhesive pad, leaving the hoses enough slack not to kink. Set the sensor so it touches the floor, behind the toilet or at its base, where a level shows leaking water would run. Plug in the sensor, add the batteries and turn the water back on.
To test it, hold the power button for 3 seconds, press “open” to fill the tank, then put a little water under the sensor. It beeps and stops the water. Dry the sensor and press “open” again. It also sounds an alert when the batteries run low. Every step is in the aquaHALT 2X installation manual (PDF), and you can also watch the 2X installation video.
What it catches: water on the floor where the sensor sits, behind the toilet or at its base. That’s where water ends up when a toilet overflows. A slow leak inside the tank, past a worn flapper, drains into the bowl and never reaches the floor, so it won’t set the sensor off. A food coloring test finds that kind of leak.
One 2X protects one toilet, so a second toilet needs a second unit.
If it isn’t right for you, you have 30 days to return it. Return shipping is on you unless the unit is defective or damaged, and we replace a defective unit free, shipping included. Our return policy has the details.
Protect Your Toilets
The aquaHALT Flip is a toilet leak detector with an automatic shut-off, and it gives the same protection as the aquaHALT 2X. It attaches directly to the bottom of your toilet’s fill valve, so it’s easy to tuck out of sight. When water reaches its floor sensor, it shuts off the water to the tank and beeps. It uses one 3/8″ water hose.
In the box: the aquaHALT unit, a leak detection sensor, a new 3/8″ x 3/8″ water supply hose and two AA batteries.
Take the old supply hose off completely. Connect the new hose from the unit to the wall valve, snug but not overtightened, then fit the unit to the bottom of the fill valve, leaving the hose enough slack not to kink.
Every step is in the aquaHALT Flip installation manual (PDF), and you can also watch the Flip installation video.

Protect Your Ice Makers
The aquaHALT ICE is an automatic shut-off valve for your refrigerator’s ice maker line. It uses the same technology as the aquaHALT 2X, only with 1/4″ adapters, so it connects easily to your existing plumbing fittings under the kitchen sink, where the ice maker’s water feed usually starts. When water reaches its floor sensor, it shuts off the water to the ice maker and beeps.
In the box: the aquaHALT unit, a leak detection sensor, a 1/4″ x 1/4″ water supply hose and two AA batteries. You’ll also need a small adjustable wrench and a small level. The sensor connects to the unit by a wire, and there’s no Wi-Fi, no app and no subscription. Assembled in the USA, U.S. Patent No. 10,895,068.
Installing it, in short: close the water supply valve under the kitchen sink. If water still gets through it when it’s closed, have a plumber replace it first. Open the sink’s cold faucet to drain most of the water from the lines. Unscrew the ice maker feed from the adapter tee, connect the new 1/4″ hose from the unit to that tee, then connect the ice maker feed to the other side of the unit, snug but not overtightened. Mount the unit on the wall under the sink, leaving the hoses enough slack not to kink. Set the sensor so it touches the floor, behind or next to the ice maker or on the bottom of the refrigerator near its base, where a level shows leaking water would run. Plug in the sensor, add the batteries and turn the water back on.
To test it, hold the power button for 3 seconds, press “open” to let water through to the ice maker, then put a little water under the sensor. It beeps and stops the water. Dry the sensor and press “open” again. It also sounds an alert when the batteries run low. Every step is in the aquaHALT ICE installation manual (PDF), and you can also watch the ICE installation video.
What it catches: water on the floor where the sensor sits, behind or next to the ice maker or at the bottom of the refrigerator near its base. If water from the ice maker line reaches the sensor, the ICE shuts off the ice maker’s water and beeps. A drip that stays inside the fridge or inside a wall never reaches the sensor, so the ICE won’t react to it.
One ICE protects one ice maker line, so a second ice maker needs a second unit.

Protect Your Sinks
The aquaHALT H/C is an under-sink automatic shut-off valve for a kitchen or bathroom sink. It’s a double-port valve that keeps the hot water and the cold water feeding your sink separate, so one unit guards both lines. It installs with 3/8″ water hoses.
When it detects water, its internal valve shuts off the supply at the sink. Like the rest of the aquaHALT range, it’s battery operated, with no Wi-Fi, no app and no subscription, and it’s assembled in the USA. Each aquaHALT protects one fixture, so you’d use one H/C for each sink you want covered. For toilets there’s the 2X or the Flip, and for an ice maker line the ICE.
We haven’t published an installation manual for the H/C. If you’d like to know what comes in the box and how it fits your sink before you order, contact us and ask.
If it isn’t right for you, you have 30 days to return it. Return shipping is on you unless the unit is defective or damaged, and we replace a defective unit free, shipping included. Our return policy has the details.
